In the first quarter of 2025, the carpooling and ridesharing app market in Oceania showed notable trends across various platforms. According to data from Sensor Tower, here is an overview of the top five apps and their performance.
Uber - Request a ride experienced a fluctuating pattern in weekly downloads, starting the quarter with approximately 39K downloads and peaking at around 41K in the week of February 10. Active users showed resilience, starting at 2.2M and maintaining around the same level by the end of March.
DiDi Rider: Affordable rides saw a consistent number of downloads, peaking at 31.7K in early February. The app maintained a strong active user base, increasing from 610K to approximately 630K by the end of the quarter.
Grab: Taxi Ride, Food Delivery showed a gradual decline in downloads, starting at 27.9K and dropping to 17.3K by the end of March. However, active users rebounded towards the quarter’s end, rising from 104K in early February to 144K.
Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver maintained a steady download rate, with a slight peak in mid-March at 11.5K. Active users, however, showed a decline from 264K at the start of the quarter to 220K by the end.
Finally, Gojek downloads declined from 8.9K to 6K over the quarter. Despite this, active users remained relatively stable, starting at 282K and closing at 281K.
